“I Never Anticipated That I Would Be In This Position”- Abid Ali Talks About Returning Back To Cricket Field After Recovering From Acute Coronary Syndrome

PAK vs WI Live Update: Abid Ali has competed for Pakistan in 22 international matches even though he has had very little chance to do so. Due to the intense rivalry that occurs within the national squad, Ali was not able to make his debut at the top level until the month of March 2019, when he was already 31 years old. On the other hand, there was a time in the life of the Lahore cricketer when a major heart condition came close to putting an end to his career.

Ali himself stated that he got the feeling that his career was ended as he remembered the terrible heart illness that he had while competing in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021/22 in December. He went on to express his thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) physicians, chairman Ramiz Raja, and NCA doctors for supporting him even when he was not in the best of his health.

PAK vs WI Live Update: I never felt that anything like that could ever take place: Abid Ali

“For the last five or six months, I have been in great difficulty. But praise is to Allah, the Almighty, I am now back to my regular schedule. I never anticipated that I would be in this position given the circumstances that I was in,” Abid Ali stated while speaking to Cricket Pakistan.

“I would want to extend my gratitude to the PCB as well as to everyone else who has supported me, in particular Ramiz Raja and the NCA physicians who served on the panel. Additionally, I am glad to have a wonderful staff working with me and assisting me in the rehabilitation center. It has been a tremendous blessing for me,” he said.

At the same time, the right-handed batter continued by saying that he never imagined that such an incident could ever occur. When he was confronted with this unforeseen situation, he felt as if his career was over. In addition, the man, who was 34, said that he would have a good attitude and hope for a happier and healthier life in the years to come.

Abid Ali complained of chest problems in December of 2021 while competing in a match for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He was promptly brought to the hospital, where he was subsequently diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome. The cricket player was fortunate enough to have a successful angioplasty procedure.
