NBA hands over ban to Toronto Raptors’ Jontay Porter: Reports

Things went terribly sideways for Toronto Raptors’ Jontay Porter as he was handed a ban due to the violation of the gambling rules of the United States as per the latest reports. The report released by the league stated, “confidential data to sports bettors, excluded his self participation in one or more games for betting purposes, and betting on NBA games.”

The NBA delved deeper into the case and it stated from January and March of 2024, the legendary Porter was either a part of the G League Team Raptors 905 where he placed 13 bets on the extravagant basketball games using an account of his known friend as reported by the Fox.

Here is how Jontay Porter put more into his bets

Porter’s bets that came through his friend’s account ranged from a small $15 to a staggering $22,000. The awards that he managed to land amounted to a consolidated total of $21,965. The money splurged was even bigger that would send heads spinning.

Three of the punts made by Porter were multi-game which was also inclusive of a Raptors’ game. Porter betted on the fact that the Raptors would go down. All these were a part of the recent bets placed as per reported by Fox.

The man in question was a part of the Raptors team and played 26 games in the season before being sidelined. His average timespan in each game was a modest 13.8 which begs a lot of questions on the sidelines.
