Not corona, but IPL is the most searched word by India on Google

According to the 2020 search trends data released by Google, the most searched word by Indians on Google was IPL (Indian Premier League). The mega tournament was followed by coronavirus, which was the second most searched word according to the trend.

The IPL was supposed to take place from March 29 this year. But due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the IPL was postponed indefinitely. Cricket being like a religion in India, many were craving for the IPL to take place at some point in this year. People were constantly searching on Google about what time of the year will the IPL take place.

The IPL was played in the UAE from September 19-November 10

Finally, on September 19, the Indian Premier League was set to begin in the United Arab Emirates as the conditions in India were not suitable to host the IPL due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The IPL was a huge success as it gave a lot of relief to the people of India as well as many cricket fans around the world who were missing cricketing action for a long time.
