Predicting India’s strongest playing 11 for WTC Finals 2023

Australian national cricket team were the first to qualify for the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship final. They beat Team India in the third Test match at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and rightly so, they made it to the WTC final for the first time.

On the other hand, Team India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy by beating Australia by 2-1 in the Test series. However, after Sri Lanka’s defeat to New Zealand in their first Test, India automatically qualified for the final.

Notably, this is the second time that India qualified for the WTC Final. In the previous edition, they lost to New Zealand in the final. It remains to be seen how they will gather the forces in order to secure the coveted title.

India will play against Australia in the WTC Final from June 7 to 11, with June 12 set as a reserve day. The game will kick off at The Kennington Oval in England, which is a batting-friendly wicket.

India’s top-order batters are expected to play a key role against Australia in the WTC Finals. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open the innings together whereas Cheteshwar Pujara, India’s Test specialist will come out at No.3.

Since it is going to be a batting-friendly wicket, we can expect the batters to dominate the game. Virat Kohli who has been scintillating form right now will play at No.4.

On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane made a stellar comeback to the squad and his experience could do the trick in the middle-order. KS Bharat, the newbie who recently featured in BGT series against Australia will come out to bat at No.6.

India are boosted by the presence of three all-rounders in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur. Last but not least, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami will be leading the pace attack.
