The Portuguese skipper became the first human being on the face of the planet to cross the 500 million follower and the congratulatory messages were all over the internet as his fan base continues to grow. Ronaldo has double the followers of Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli whole the closest person on the list is Lionel Messi with 376 million followers.

Television personality, Kylie Jenner is in the third spot of the followers’ index with 372 million followers while Selena Gomez and Dwayne Johnson are in the fourth and fifth position respectively. Virat has 224 million followers on Instagram and continues to grow.

On Saturday, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi posed together across a chessboard and the snap went viral immediately and the number of likes and comments kept on pouring in. Ronaldo’s post alone on his social media feed has gathered more than 35 million imprints.
