“So many hybrids which has created confusion in playing style and player belonging,” Tom Moody’s reply to Wasim Jaffer’s “When was the last time India played a full strength team?”

India have lost the ODI series to Bangladesh 2-0.

Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has highlighted the reason why Indian players are struggling with their fitness. He replied to a query by Wasim Jaffer, who expressed his concerns over Indian players getting injured by asking when did they play a full-strength team. Moody feels that there are many hybrids which have created confusion in playing style and player belonging.

“When was the last time India played a full-strength team?” Wasim Jaffer questions Indian management following a series loss against Bangladesh

Indian team has been going through a really bad patch. The year 2022 has seen many heartbreaks for them. As they first lost the Test series and ODI series in South Africa. Just when many backed them to create history and win the rescheduled fifth Test in England, they displayed another poor performance and lost the game.

To worsen the case more they then failed to qualify for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022 and then gave their fans another heartbreak when they were thrashed by England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. However, the story continued even after that tournament as they suffered an ODI series loss against New Zealand.

Things have got really concerning as now they have lost the ODI series against Bangladesh 2-0 with one match to go. They have failed to get going and failed to rise on the pressure situation. It’s fair to say that one of the main reasons behind their poor performances is the unavailability of key players in all of the series.

At least one key player has missed each series and the injury woes have worsened in the ongoing Bangladesh series. With Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja already being not there, as many as four Indian players have suffered injuries and are ruled out of the series in Mohammad Shami, Kuldeep Sen, Deepak Chahar and skipper Rohit Sharma.

Following India’s loss in the ODI series against Bangladesh, Wasim Jaffer questioned management and said: “When was the last time India played a full-strength team? Where no one was rested or missing due to injury?”
