3 candidates recently sacked in IPL whom England can target as the next white-ball Head Coach

England is struggling in the 2023 ODI World Cup. It is not a surprise that they are likely to change the Head Coach after the tournament. In fact, the board could already be looking at a few options in the market. There are some candidates recently out from IPL whom England can target. Here, we take a look at three candidates recently sacked in IPL whom England can target as the next white-ball Head Coach.

1) Tom Moody

Before IPL 2023, Tom Moody was removed from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Since then, the former Australian cricketer does not have a job in the IPL.

Having won trophies across leagues, he does have the CV to take England back to the top. He specialises in constructing solid bowling attacks and England might also need the same.

2) Mike Hesson

Mike Hesson is one of the candidates recently sacked in IPL whom England can target as the next white-ball Head Coach. Having done a decent job with RCB in recent years, Hesson recently had to leave RCB after the team failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Hesson is a brilliant strategist and has done well before as coach of a nation team, too. He would take the England job as a challenge and it will only the squad in the future. Therefore, the Kiwi is also a part of this list.

3) Brian Lara

Lara was appointed as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL 2023. However, after a disappointing season, the West Indian legend was sacked. Daniel Vettori has now replaced him as the Head Coach.

One IPL season must not be the judge of Lara’s credentials as a coach. He has shown his tactical brilliance in the past and England can consider hiring the legend as a new Head Coach. If not as a coach, they can at least try him as a consultant.
