Watch: How Kohli Vented Out His Frustration After Getting Dismissed

Despite eking out a thriller in the season opener, Royal Challengers Bangalore was off to an exceptionally slow start in the context of T20 cricket. Sunrisers Hyderabad was right on top ever since the game kicked off as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jason Holder spearheaded the bowling attack.

Bangalore managed to get on aggressive footing but was brought down in no time Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to get the better of Devdutt Padikkal. Shabaz Ahmed managed to apply a spoon of resistance along with a fighting Kohli who was way short of his normal calibre and took an anchoring stance right since the first ball.

After Ahmed departed, Glenn Maxwell took some time to free his arms and Kohli slowed down even further, barely able to strike Rashid Khan and T Natarajan. Things seemed bleak for the Indian captain as he gasping for hitting space and a tight line from Rashid Khan continuously chained him up.

As Jason Holder came back to the attack, the Indian skipper chose to free his arms against the big West Indian and in the process ended up holing out to Vijay Shankar at the deep-square leg who completed a fine catch, in the end, to pile further frustration upon Kohli.

Kohli lost his calm after being dismissed

Things already seemed going downhill for the Challengers and the Sunrisers sat right on top with some exceptional bowling from the classic leggie and Kohli’s long walk back to the pavilion proved to be another nail in Bangalore’s coffin.

While going back to the dugout, he hammered the chair with his bat and left everyone in the dugout surprised. We are all aware of how emotive Kohli is and the fact that he wears his heart on the sleeves makes him an exceptionally special cricketer. Haplessly, the situation that saw Kohli walking back was his own fault and not some cruel turn of the dice by misfortune. Hence, the action of Kohli will definitely have consequences, however, let’s just hope that the captain learns from his mistakes instead of venting out in needless ways that can get himself and his team in trouble.
