Now, he has opined that it was Mickey Arthur who had a big role to play in that. However, due to a lot of reasons, Umar slowly started falling out of favor. While form with the bat was the main reason, Umar’s controversies also did not help him. Corruption, fitness issues, feigning injury, and many other unwanted issues hampered his career. So, at the moment, he is not in the picture of Pakistan at all.

Former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur reacts

Mickey Arthur is one of the most successful coaches that Pakistan has witnessed. Under him, the squad achieved the No.1 ranking in Tests and T20Is for a while. Most importantly, they won an ICC trophy under him. In 2017, Pakistan defeated India in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy to win the competition. It was a terrific win but Mickey did not his term renewed.
