“RCB would have won 3 IPL trophies by now if…” – Wasim Akram not impressed by RCB’s empty trophy cabinet

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the top teams in the history of the Indian Premier League. Despite the fact that they haven’t won any title, they have a passionate and loyal fanbase.

Their fans have been rooting for the franchise through thick and thin since the inception of the IPL. RCB did brave the challenges and performed very well in fragments in majority of the seasons.

With top-tier players at their disposal, they couldn’t just find out a way to win the title. They are the only team that failed to win the trophy despite making it to the final three times in their journey.

Just ahead of the start of the IPL, RCB were keen on getting MS Dhoni and also wanted to bid for him in the first place. However, the team management at that time insisted that there was no need for such an expensive player.

Today, the franchise must be regretting the fact that they missed a chance sign MS Dhoni. On the other hand, MS Dhoni landed up at CSK and the rest is history. Under his captaincy, CSK have won every possible trophy.

CSK have won four IPL titles and two Champions League T20 titles. Former Pakistani cricketer, Wasim Akram is not impressed by Royal Challengers Bangalore’s empty trophy cabinet.

While speaking to Sportskeeda, Wasim Akram echoed that RCB would have won three IPL trophies by now if MS Dhoni was their skipper. RCB were the runners-up in IPL 2009, 2011 and 2018 seasons respectively.

Wasim Akram further added that RCB have not won a single trophy so far. At the same time, he emphasized that RCB have so much support from the fans.

He further added that RCB have the world’s top modern-era player in the form of Virat Kohli but sadly the team didn’t win a title. The former Pakistani speedster highlighted that if MS Dhoni was in RCB, he would have helped them win the trophy.
