It was a tough series for India to lose. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three inevitable decisions India must make for the Test squad.
1) Make Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of the India Test squad
It is a no-brainer here. Bumrah has shown in the BGT that he can be a good captain, as well. Anyways, the team needs a consistently performing skipper.
Hence, Bumrah must become the captain of the side. The selectors must make the official announcement regarding the same.
2) Drop Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli
Dropping Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is one of the inevitable decisions India must make for the Test squad. India is surely in a transition phase now.
There is no point in sticking with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, especially after their failures this season. For the betterment of the squad, it is high-time to try youngsters.
3) Bring in a separate Head Coach for Tests
There are still close to 6 months for Team India to prepare for the England Tour. It is the next big challenge for the side.
Gautam Gambhir may be suited better to a role with the white-ball squad. Hence, having a separate red-ball coach could bring more purpose, direction and focus.
