Suresh Raina called it a day in domestic cricket, thereby snuffing out all speculations of playing any further in the IPL. According to various media reports it is being claimed that the former hard-hitting southpaw hung up his boots in the domestic career, putting a full stop on his prolonged career that made him a specialist at the number three position in the shortest format of the contest.
The erstwhile Indian middle-order batter announced his retirement from international cricket in 2018, following in the footsteps of MS Dhoni. He continued plying his trade for the Chennai Super Kings as he played for the Yellow Army in 2019 and 2021 before being snubbed for the latest edition of the tournament, leaving the superstar with a sour taste in his mouth.
It has been an absolute honour to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities 🇮🇳
