Unless an RCB-esque turnaround, CSK is out of IPL 2025. There are many reasons for the team’s run in the season. Here, we take a look at the list of three major reasons for CSK’s poor show in IPL 2025.
1) Emotional signings and retentions
The likes of R Ashwin, Sam Curran did not add value to the side. While retaining cricketers, too, the team could have taken some bold calls. Importantly, the team’s strategy at the auctions was flawed. This is the main reason why the squad is struggling.
2) Stubborn tactics are one of the reasons for CSK’s poor show in IPL 2025
Be it at the auctions or on the field, the team has been stubborn with some of the decisions. It is necessary to transition and adapt to the modern requirements of the game. CSK failed to do this and hence, they have not been able to do.
3) Lack of a power-hitter in the squad
This is very much related to the first point. However, the absence of a power-hitter is such a big miss that it deserves a mention separately. CSK did really had to invest in a power-hitter like Ashutosh Sharma, Aniket Verma or Nehal Wadhera instead of the likes of Deepak Hooda and Vijay Shankar.
