Barcelona etched its name into the record books after they got the better of their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, three times in a row in La Liga, which is quite a magnificent record.
Real Madrid who have been the thrusting force in UEFA Champions League are falling short of the target when it comes to Spanish League. The Spanish giants failed to bring the best out of themselves while locking horns with Barcelona recently.
The El-Clasico went in favour of Barcelona this time too as they beat Real Madrid by 2-1. Barca’s Ronald Araujo was a bit unlucky as he scored an own goal for Real Madrid in the 9th minute of the match. However, Barcelona restored parity by scoring a goal in the form of Sergio Roberto in the 45th minute.
Franck Kessie scores a winning goal for Barcelona
The intriguing fixture had its moment every now and then as both teams tried their best to win the game. Both teams had their fair share of chances, although Barca were slightly better in terms of shots on target.
However, Barca had the last laugh in the battle as Franck Kessie scored a winning goal for them in the 90th minute. In a closely-fought contest that could have gone either way, Barca’s Franck Kessie weaved the magic at the last minute.
Real Madrid suffered yet another heartbreaking defeat at the hands of their rivals in La Liga. They suffered a third defeat on the trot over Barcelona. As things stand, Barcelona are flying in the race for the La Liga title.
They are currently on top of the table with 68 points from 26 games (22 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses). On the other hand, Real Madrid are second on the table with 56 points from 2 games (17 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats). As things stand, Barca are now the clear-cut favourites to win the La Liga title.
Three times in a row. It's huge considering the formidable Real side. https://t.co/1OKPqQLRq6
