Messages about Cristiano Ronaldo signing a secret contract have been uncovered as part of the investigation into Juventus’ transfer scandal.
In order to reassure investors during the Covid-19 outbreak, Juventus made it public that they would not be paying their players. But, Football Italia reports that it has now come to light that several players were secretly offered new agreements.
Afterwards, Ronaldo’s was exposed, along with a string of WhatsApp chats detailing the agreement.
Club secretary Paolo MOrganti confirmed that the player had agreed on a new deal in April 2021 via Whatsapp: “Second salary manoeuvre, Cristiano has signed. He has a copy of all the documents.”

The Italian team is embroiled in yet another major issue. The club’s manipulation of player valuations to boost yearly revenues was exposed earlier this year. Juventus will be appealing the allegations brought against them in a hearing on April 19.
