The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have assembled a strong team ahead of the IPL 2022 season. All eyes will be on RCB Playing XI. Their most dangerous player AB de Villiers has retired from the IPL, leaving a big hole in the team. However, the franchise tried its best to make up for his absence by signing some big names.
RCB are yet to announce their new captain for the IPL 2022 season, but their squad is complete, and here’s a look at their strongest playing XI for the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League.
Openers – Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli
Although RCB lost Devdutt Padikkal to Rajasthan Royals, they have made up for it by signing Faf du Plessis, who is one of the most consistent performers in the IPL history. Virat Kohli and du Plessis will likely open the innings together for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Middle Order – Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell and Anuj Rawat
Since Dinesh Karthik is an experienced player, he should get the chance to bat in the top-order for RCB. Last year, he could not play well consistently as a finisher for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Karthik will have the back of the duo of Glenn Maxwell and Anuj Rawat in the middle-order.
All-rounders – Mahipal Lomror, Wanindu Hasaranga and Shahbaz Ahmed
The trio of Mahipal Lomror, Wanindu Hasaranga and Shahbaz Ahmed will comprise the all-rounders’ section. All three players have IPL experience under their belt. Hasaranga will lead the spin attack in the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal.
Bowlers – Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood
The three fast bowlers of the team will be Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood. They have impressive stats in T20 cricket, and RCB also has a good back-up in the form of Siddarth Kaul, Jason Behrendorff and David Willey.
