“Our Careers Not Over”- James Anderson Reacts As Ben Stokes Says, He Is Ready To Have Both Him And Stuart Broad Back In Test

Experienced England fast bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad have received a positive update regarding their Test careers. The legendary duo did not receive a place in the England squad for the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies cricket team. They lost their spots after the England cricket team suffered a 0-4 defeat in the Ashes series.

The young players could not make much of a difference as well. The England cricket team lost the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies cricket team by 0-1. Soon after, captain Joe Root announced that he is stepping down from his position. Ben Stokes replaced him as the captain.

Stokes stated that the two veterans could come back to the England Test squad and play Test cricket again. Reacting to that development, James Anderson stated on BBC:

“Stuart and I were hoping our careers weren’t over. So it’s nice to hear there’s a chance. Because of the situation and not having people in these roles, you’re just so unsure of what’s going to happen. So now having that clarity is really nice.”

James Anderson and Stuart Broad can make a comeback to England Test Team by impressing in county matches

Although Anderson and Broad have been immensely successful in their Test careers, they will have to prove themselves again to return to the squad. Both Anderson and Broad are playing county cricket at the moment. Anderson is a part of the Lancashire team, while Broad plays for Worcestershire.

With the England cricket team scheduled to play Test matches against the Indian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team later this year, it will be interesting to see how Ben Stokes performs in his maiden home season as captain. Also, all eyes will be on Anderson and Broad if they make a comeback.
