SRH is one of the teams that bid for Glenn Maxwell in recent mega auctions before PBKS signed him. With the Aussie presence high at SRH, it was not a surprise that the franchise wanted Maxi.
In fact, looking at the SRH squad, Maxi would have been a useful option for the franchise. The team lacks a proper third overseas batter. Kamindu Mendis is not a great option. Also, Maxi’s involvement could have put Heinrich Klaasen under less pressure.
