2 players who could replace Glenn Maxwell against England in 2023 ODI World Cup

In a freak injury, Glenn Maxwell fell off his golf cart and suffered a concussion. The all-rounder will miss the team’s next game against England in Ahmedabad. Maxwell had been in fine form and rendered the much-needed balance to the side. In his absence, the team will struggle, especially in the bowling department. On that note, here, we take a look at two players who could replace Glenn Maxwell against England in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

1) Marcus Stonis

Marcus Stoinis is likely to be the first option for Australia when it comes to replacing Glenn Maxwell. It is a massive hole left by Maxi in the playing XI. The player who replaces him should be able to give 10 overs of bowling and should also finish games for the side with the bat.

Stoinis, despite his indifferent form, is the closest option Australia can get to replace Maxwell. On his day, Stoinis can give his quota of overs with the ball. With the willow, Stoinis can be inconsistent. However, he is a powerful striker of the ball. If the muscle strength comes good, he will be in for a good day with the bat.

2) Cameron Green

Cameron Green is one of the players who could replace Glenn Maxwell against England in the 2023 ODI World Cup. If Australia has to ensure 10 overs with the ball more than the necessity with the bat, they can go for Cameron Green as his replacement.

Green has not been in great form in recent weeks. However, having seen his potential in IPL 2023, he is perfectly capable to replace Maxwell. With the ball, Green could struggle as the English batters could like his type of bowling. The Mumbai Indians cricketer, though, can compensate with his big-hitting in the lower middle-order. Therefore, Green is on this list to replace Maxi.
