India’s Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara who has been one of the chief architects of the Test batting unit for several years now expressed his ultimate dream in a recent interview.
The experienced campaigner said that his dream is to win the ICC WTC final for India. It remains to be seen whether or not the dream will be accomplished in the future.
Team India made it to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship in the first cycle. However, they failed to crack the code in the final showdown against the New Zealand national cricket team.
Cheteshwar Pujara said his dream is to win the WTC final for India
The New Zealand cricket team were clinically and tactically better than Team India in all aspects of the game. As a result, they went on to win the intriguing final by 8 wickets and won the high-voltage clash.
Meanwhile, Team India occupied the first spot in the ICC Test rankings from the second spot. The improvement comes after their stellar win over Australia in the first Test in Nagpur.
However, they will be able to hold on to the numero uno spot if they win the second Test against Australia in Delhi. Cheteshwar Pujara said his dream is to win the World Test Championship final for Team India.
First of all, India will have to win the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series by an optimal margin of 3-1 in order to guarantee a spot in the ICC WTC final. It will be quite interesting to see how India will go about their business in the upcoming games.
Cheteshwar Pujara possesses a truckload of experience in his repertoire and he will be looking forward to leading the batting attack by example in the upcoming games for India. Pujara will be playing his 100th Test when India will lock horns with Australia tomorrow.
You should only win it for us then… https://t.co/uN1kotYG2j
