After Namibia pulled off an upset on the very first day of the T20 World Cup 2022 by beating Sri Lanka by more than 50 runs, Scotland replicated it today by beating West Indies and the margin of the victory was again massive, that is 42 runs.
Namibia and Scotland are small cricket-playing nations at the moment, but they are also non-test-playing nations and don’t have the experience of playing too many matches on the biggest stage, but they somehow have managed to beat two test-playing nations and have completely dominated them.
While cricket fans have been immensely surprised by these results, what’s also worth noting is that the Australian conditions might have a role to play in these games as well. Australia is different from the venues where both Sri Lanka and the West Indies play most of their home games.
The batting units that Sri Lanka and West Indies have got, are more suite+++++++++++++++++++++++++++`1d to the surfaces where the bounce is not on the higher side. Namibia and Scotland, on the other hand, don’t mind a bit of bounce because they play on those kinds of surfaces back home even though they are small cricketing nations.

Today also Scotland batted first and put a score of a tad above 160 on the board which, although looked changeable, turned out to be a handful for West Indies, and that too by quite some margin.
Here are the Twitter reactions of the cricket fans today after Scotland beat West Indies in the third match of the T20 World Cup 2022 –
This is not a massive upset.
Scotland have reached the same stage as Ireland and Afghanistan, a win like this is no longer the biggest news in the world. Just proof they are right on the fringes of the top teams.

Scotland have played just two T20i's since the last World Cup (lost them both) and they've just thrashed the West Indies!#T20WorldCup

Couldn't be a better start to this #T20WorldCup – Scotland have overturned West Indies in the second upset in three matches. Big game to follow between Ireland and Zimbabwe. Both first round groups will be very interesting. #cricket

Magical day for Scotland – a crushing 42-run victory in Hobart.
In Harare 4 years ago, Scotland lost by 5 runs in the ODI World Cup qualifier to miss out on the World Cup. This is their revenge

It's not over in Group B, but when we predicted West Indies not going through in the @EmergingCricket pod, it wasn't just the Windies frailties, it was Hobart, the conditions and the collective talent across the other 3 teams.
This campaign has the recipe of a disaster for them.

What’s happening in Australia? On first two days, two former champions have been humbled. Yesterday Namibia thrashed three time finalists Sri Lanka. Today two time champions West Indies have been stunned. What a start to the tournament.Associate nations are taking huge strides. pic.twitter.com/2B8w7kZhSp
