The auctions were held a few weeks ago and because it is the first edition, there were unavoidably a few gaps in each squad. Nevertheless, after the first season, the fans and the teams would also understand the squad better and this would help the tournament.
UP Warriorz is one team that looks strong at the moment. Led by Alyssa Healy, the team has a solid Indian core and also boasts a good bowling attack. Deepti Sharma will be the key for the franchise. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians have made some big signings. While Smriti Mandhana will play for RCB, Harmanpreet Kaur will wear the Mumbai Indians colours. These teams also have some upcoming Indian superstars such as Richa Ghosh and Pooja Vastrakar. Overall, it will be a historic moment in Indian Women’s Cricket with the start of the WPL.

Compared to the other stadiums in Mumbai, Brabourne has got shorter boundaries and hence, the batters will be positive here. The dew factor would also help the batters.
While the pacers would get some assistance, the spinners could have a tough time out here. Captains winning the toss will most likely look to bowl first.
