“Will see him in for Sussex,” Twitter reacts as Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari didn’t take part in IPL 2023 auction

IPL 2023 auction will take place on 23rd December.

Fans on Twitter reacted as Indian Test specialists Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari didn’t register themselves for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2023. They feel that the duo will now take part in County Cricket and also gave some hilarious reactions.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari not a part in IPL 2023 auction

Even though it’s far away from now, IPL 2023 has taken the fans by storm. The preparations for the next edition of the tournament are underway. After the franchises released the list of releases and retained players, the excitement for the auction is building up. All the teams would be looking to fill the uncovered bases when the players will go under the hammer.

IPL 2023 will see a mini-auction taking place. The event is slated to take place in Kochi on 23rd December. A total of 991 players have registered their names to go under the hammer. The tally of 991 includes 714 Indians and 277 overseas players, out of which only 87 cricketers can be picked.

Some big names such as Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, Joe Root, Cameron Green, Nicholas Pooran and others have registered their names for the auction. However, there are only a few reputed Indian players in Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey and Kedhar Jadhav, Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma in the auction and it is likely they will attract the bidders.

Two prominent Indian names that were part of the league earlier, however, have not registered this time for the auction. These include Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari. Both are considered as the Test specialist and hence it was expected that not many would’ve shown interest in them.

Both Pujara and Vihari have played in the league with the former winning the title with CSK as well in 2021. On the other hand, Vihari was part of the Delhi Capitals. It is expected that both will now focus on their Test game.
