Virat Kohli recently scored his 44th ODI and 72nd international ton.

Virat Kohli returns to form after three long years

Ever since T20 World Cup 2022 started, India batter Virat Kohli has been in the talks because of the form that he has shown in the tournament. The right-hander struggled for almost three years and his place in the side was even doubted.

However, a short break from cricket ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 did a lot of good to him as he came fresh and started scoring runs once again. His match awaited 71st century also came in that tournament and he carried his form in the ongoing World Cup as well, where was the leading run scorer with around 300 runs to his name.

He continued his fine form as he played staggeringly well in the following series. The right-hander ended his century drought in ODIs after August 2019. It was a sensational innings by him as returned to form and staggeringly crafted his innings to pave his way through the 44th ton in ODIs.

Kohli is now only behind great Sachin Tendulkar in terms of centuries and it’s a no-brainer that he can surpass batting great as well as he continues playing with the same intensity. He currently has 44 centuries in ODIs, 27 in Tests and 1 in T20Is.

He’s currently playing Test series against Bangladesh. Although he scored just 1 run in the first innings, it is expected that he will play big innings in the series.
