Tony Khan explains the mysterious details of Ric Flair’s AEW Contract, Completely Different from WWE

AEW has been in the midst of some serious chaos despite all the star power. With CM Punk out of the company and featuring in WWE, they needed a few veteran faces to stabilize the entire ship and Ric Flair came knocking on the door. However, things can be slightly tricky when it comes to featuring the Nature Boy for he comes with a hefty price tag.

However, surprising everyone, apparently AEW is being paid for Ric Flair to feature in their promotion. Going by the inside reports, Woo Energy approached AEW to sponsor them while a part of that mega deal was also to include Flair on the promotion as per the latest interview of Tony Khan.

Khan said, “We’re not paying Ric Flair; Ric Flair is essentially paying us. We’re getting paid by Wooooo Energy for all of his appearances, so we’re collecting revenue from them.”

Here is how Ric Flair and AEW have been working out the contract

Woo Energy has become one of their primary sponsors with the brand’s logo now being shown on both the sides of the ramp during the entrance of the show in their television tapings.

On Flair, Khan said that this is outside the sponsorship deal and Flair coming on screen is not just one of those deals where he pays the company directly but just a fringe part of the contract that benefits both.

Apparently honouring the long-standing stature of Ric Flair, AEW does pay him a certain amount but then again truth be told that is no where near of what Woo Energy has been paying the company.

Flair debuted on AEW on 25th October on AEW Dynamite. The following week saw him signing a mega deal with the company. Flair is one of the record holders in the WWE ring with the number of championships around his waist. Very few wrestlers hold as many laurels as Flair does.
