Fans on Twitter reacted after England defeated Pakistan in the second Test in Multan to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. They lauded the Ben Stokes-led side for their magnificent performance and also took a jibe at Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for losing yet another Test at home and 3rd in this year.
England beats Pakistan by 27 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series
The second Test between England and Pakistan was nothing short of entertainment. But it was once again the visitors who had their eyes set on the prize and yet again displayed a staggering effort to win the game by 27 runs and clinch the series with one game to go.
Asked to bat first, England had no answers to the mystery of Abrar Hamed as he picked a seven-wicket haul in the first innings and helped his side bundle out the opposition for just 281 runs. But despite losing the wickets they went hard at the bowling, which powered them to a fighting total.
Ben Duckett (63) and Ollie Pope (60) smashed the fifties whereas skipper Stokes (30), Will Jacks (31) and Mark Wood (36*) played fiery knocks to power their score to over 280. They then produced a great bowling effort on account of a four-wicket haul by Jack Leach, and vital contributions from other bowlers bundled out Pakistan for 202 runs, taking the lead of 78 runs.
England then yet again came out all guns blazing and smashed bowlers all over the park. Harry Brook smashed another century for his side and a 71-run knock by Ben Duckett along with 41 by skipper Stokes helped England set a target of 353 runs.
Mark Wood (4/65) along with James Anderson(2/44) and Ollie Robinsson (2/ 23) then stepped up for his side in the fourth innings as they made Pakistan batters look clueless and bowled out them for 328 runs to win the game and take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. For hosts, Saud Shakeel fought till the very end as he scored 94 runs. There were crucial contributions by Imam Ul Haq (60), Abdullah Shafique (45) and Mohammad Rizwan (30) but they weren’t enough as England bagged a comfortable win.

As England clinched the series against Pakistan, fans on Twitter praised the Ben Stokes-led side. They also trolled Pakistan for losing the series at home and criticised skipper Babar Azam for losing 3rd Test at home in 2022.
