The former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is playing the landmark 100th Test match of his international career right now. Kohli made his Test debut in the year 2011 and almost 11 years later, he has joined an elite club of players to have represented their country 100 times or more in the purest format of the game.
Kohli could have played this match in South Africa as a captain, but unfortunately, he suffered an injury before the second match of hat series. Due to that reason, his 100th Test was pushed to the home season. Initially, this match was supposed to happen in Bengaluru, but now it is happening at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
The BCCI and the PCA did not allow fans to the stadium for this game, but later on the decision was overturned. After so many changes, Kohli’s 100th Test is happening in Mohali, and all members of the cricket universe felt that the right-handed batter would score a ton.
However, it did not happen as Kohli lost his wicket for 45 runs after a fluent batting performance. Interestingly, a Twitter user accurately predicted it at 12:46 AM IST on March 4.
“Kohli Won’t score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he’ll pretend to be shocked and will nod his head in disappointment,” the tweet reads.
Fans in disbelief after seeing the tweet about Virat Kohli’s performance in 100th Test
Like the tweet states, Kohli played some gorgeous drives and scored 45 runs before Lasith Embuldeniya shattered his stumps. The Indian cricketer looked a bit shocked and then returned to the dressing room five runs short off his half-century. Here is the tweet from that Twitter and here’s how the fans reacted after seeing it prove to be accurate.
