Mumbai Indians locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 54th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The blockbuster fixture took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Batting first, Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a challenging total of 199/7 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore largely benefitted from the services of both Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis.

Mumbai Indians got off to a cracking start in the form of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. The duo added 51 runs for the opening wicket before Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed Kishan for 42 off 21 balls.
The young southpaw struck four boundaries and four hits over the fence during his stay at the crease. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was trapped for a LBW off Wanindu Hasaranga’s bowling.
As the game progressed, Suryakumar Yadav took the bowling attack to the cleaners as he scored runs at a rate of knots. The right-handed batsman composed his innings with the help of seven fours and six sixes to his name.
He scored a stellar 83 off 35 balls and literally changed the total complexion of the game. His innings helped Mumbai Indians ace the run-chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He maintained a strike rate of 237.14. MI beat RCB by six wickets.
