The roles of players change in international matches and in domestic leagues. Here, we take a look at the list of three English players whose roles will be different in IPL 2025 compared to T20Is.

At the moment, Jos Buttler plays at No.3 for England. However, in the IPL, he might have to return to his preferred role at the top as an opener.
GT cannot afford to have Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan take time in the powerplay. Hence, Buttler will be needed.

Jamie Overton is one of the English players whose roles will be different in IPL 2025 compared to T20Is. His bowling role is more pronounced than his batting role for England.
At CSK, it could be equal. CSK does not have a designated pace hitter. Hence, someone like Jamie will be expected to do more with the bat.
3) Harry Brook
Harry Brook was a constant No.4 in the England setup. However, in the IPL, he could be used only when pacers are around.
Harry is not great against spin. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have the likes of Axar Patel, who are very good against spin. Hence, the batting order will be dynamic.
