Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to tick all the boxes while locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at their fortress, M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It just didn’t seem right for RCB on the field as they were sloppy.
Their sloppiness led to them dropping two catches, which proved to be costly in the end. The Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 21 runs at RCB’s den.
They batted superbly well by posting a total of 200/5 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Jason Roy and Nitish Rana pitched in with vital contributions of 56 and 48 respectively.
Nitish Rana and Co defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore
It was a good day at the office for KKR as they once again got the better of Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the first leg, KKR defeated RCB by 81 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in IPL 2023.
Meanwhile, in the second leg, KKR stuck to the same winning template against KKR and it worked quite perfectly. KKR restricted RCB to 179/8 in 20 overs and won the game by 21 runs.
RCB entirely relied on KGF (Kohli, Glenn and Faf) in the batting unit. Virat Kohli, the interim captain scored his fifth half-century this season by scoring 54 off 36 balls before he was dismissed by Andre Russell.
Kohli’s dismissal came at the wrong time for RCB as they started losing wickets before they eventually lost the plot in the run-chase. KKR became the first team to beat RCB twice (both home and away) this season.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s playing XI: Virat Kohli (c), Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Suyash Prabhudessai, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj
Kolkata Knight Riders’ playing XI: N Jagadeesan (wk), Jason Roy, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana (c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, David Wiese, Vaibhav Arora, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy

If RCB doesn't qualify, these 2 defeats at the hands of one of the worst KKR team will be the reason.
