Ravindra Jadeja reportedly sustained freak injury while doing ski board adventure in Dubai, BCCI furious over the revelation

Earlier it was assumed that Ravindra Jadeja had to go through surgery because of his old knee injury

It has been reported by Times of India that the injury because of which Ravindra Jadeja has had to go through knee surgery and which has ruled him out of the T20 World Cup is actually not his old knee injury, but a new one which he sustained while participating in an “adventurous activity” in Dubai.

The report reveals that the adventurous activity was not a part of the team drill and the players were not required to do it. But, Ravindra Jadeja, on the insistence of someone, decided to do it. In the process of the adventure, he slipped from the ski board and the injury turned out to be so serious that there was no option other than the surgery.

Ravindra Jadeja has been struggling with his knee for quite sometime now, but the medical staff of the BCCI and the team management, both were of the view that Jadeja could get through to the T20 World Cup with the help of injections, because a surgery might rule him out for 4 months. But all the planning to take Jadeja to T20 World Cup without surgery eventually went in vain.

In India’s first game in the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan, Jadeja had already shown how important he was to the Indian team and then in the next game against Hong Kong, he had bowled the most economical spell for India where he had given away just 15 runs in his 4 overs.

India played without Ravindra Jadeja in Asia Cup super 4 round

But, in the absence of Jadeja in the super 4 round, India had to play without a left arm spinning allrounder and they missed that option dearly in the second game against Pakistan and then against Sri Lanka as well. According to the TOI report, the BCCI bosses are absolutely furious about Jadeja participating in that adventurous activity which required an immediate surgery.

It is being tried to establish who was the person responsible for insisting Jadeja to participate in the adventure without it being made mandatory by the team management.
