With England putting on a very average batting performance on the first day of the ongoing Ashes series at the Gabba, the official twitter handle of the Queensland Police took a dig at them as they jokingly wrote on twitter that they are planning to launch an investigation to find out about the group which is impersonating to be a test match batting order at Gabba, but is nowhere close to it.
England were bundled out for 147 by Australia earlier today in tough batting conditions as they decided to bat first, having won the toss. While Australia bowled well and a couple of England batsmen got unplayable deliveries, the application showed by the English batting order in general was way below test match standards.
The very first delivery faced by the England opener Rory Burns was the one which shouldn’t have been a wicket taking delivery, if there was a bit more application from Burns. But, he seemed massively underprepared and ended up missing a delivery on the leg stump, which could have been worked around the corner for a single.
And then the England captain Joe Root himself, who walked out with huge expectations, was sent back with a peach of a delivery from Josh Hazlewood. Hazlewood set Root up with four back of length balls, before pushing one full, which Root committed to play on the front foot and edged to the slip cordon.
Queensland Police got indulged in wordplay with their traffic instructions
The twitter handle of Queensland Police was posting about the Ashes from the morning itself, as there was the possibility of heavy traffic throughout the city of Brisbane, with people heading to Gabba from different routes to watch Australia play a test match at home after a long time.
The handle was giving traffic instructions initially with a bit of wordplay, before taking a swipe at the England team once they lost quick wickets in the first session of the game. The cricket fans all around the world started quote tweeting it, as England slid into further trouble with consistent wickets in the second session as well.

Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, has been such a fortress for the Australian team in test cricket that they have lost just one test match at this venue in the last 33 years. That one loss came against India last year in the fifth test match of the Border Gavaskar trophy.
