The 39th match of IPL 2022 is happening in Pune right now, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore are battling the Rajasthan Royals. After the end of the first innings, there was a heated exchange of words between Riyan Parag and Harshal Patel.
Speaking of the match first, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to field first. The RCB bowlers got their side off to a good start as the trio of Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal and Ravichandran Ashwin lost their wickets when the total was just 33 runs.
Josh Hazlewood and Mohammed Siraj bowled well in the powerplay overs. Siraj accounted for the wickets of Padikkal and Ashwin, while Josh dismissed the Orange Cap holder Jos. Speaking after the first innings ended, Siraj told the host broadcasters:
“I went searching for swing (on the first ball) but he hit a good shot. So, after that, I just backed myself to extract the most of the seam movement off this surface and it paid off today. Hazlewood’s line and length is brilliant and he gets extra bounce off the surface. No signs of dew yet.”
While Hazlewood and Siraj got their team off to a great start, Rajasthan Royals’ young all-rounder Riyan Parag ensured that the team finished with a competitive score of 144 runs on the board. Parag scored a brilliant fifty to help the Jaipur-based franchise cross the 140-run mark.
He smashed two sixes and a four in the last over of the innings bowled by Harshal Patel. Soon after the over ended, Parag and Harshal returned to the dressing room, but on their way back, they had a spat, the video of which has gone viral on social media.
