Narendra Modi Stadium To Host Historic Match Of Indian Team In 2022

After playing host to the first-ever day/night Test between the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team earlier this year, the world’s largest stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium is set to host another historic match involving the Indian cricket team in the year 2022. This time, it will be a one-day international match, the 1000th ODI game of the Indian cricket team.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to take on the inaugural Cricket World Cup winners West Indies in their 1000th, ODI fixture. Initially, the ODI match between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team at Boland Park was scheduled to be the 1000th, ODI game of the Indian cricket team. However, because of a change in the schedule, the 1000th ODI match is now the series opener of the Indian cricket team vs. the West Indies cricket team tour.

Narendra Modi Stadium has played host to seven international cricket matches so far

Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium hosted its first-ever international match earlier this year, featuring the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team. When will the Indian cricket team play its 1000th One-Day International match?

As of now, the Indian cricket team has played 996 one-day international matches. The 997th, 998th and 999th matches of the Indian cricket team will take place in South Africa against the South Africa cricket team. After that, the Indian cricket team will return home and host the West Indies cricket team in an ODI series.

The series between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team will comprise three ODI matches. Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Kolkata are the cities that will host the 3-match series.
