2 changes Pakistan could make for their next game against India on Sunday

It was a disappointing start for Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup. They lost to the USA in a Super Over. Now, the team would be under pressure to do well in the coming matches. Their next game will be against arch-rivals India on Sunday in New York. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two changes Pakistan could make for their next game against India.

1) Saim Ayub for Usman Khan

Pakistan was very poor in the powerplay against the USA. Babar Azam is someone who may not take the full value of the field restrictions in the powerplay. Therefore, someone like Saim Ayub needs to come into the playing XI. His sole role would be to take on the bowlers in the first 6 overs.

At No.3, Babar Azam could operate. This would be a better-designed role for him. Also, there are no better batters than him in the team. Hence, if he cannot take the tough role at No.3, the others would also find it hard to slot in here. Hence, Usman Khan could be sidelined for the game against India.

2) Imad Wasim for Azam Khan

Imad Wasim for Azam Khan is one of the changes Pakistan could make for their next game against India. Azam Khan has been struggling to score runs in the recent weeks. Pakistan can afford to drop him because they are not dependent on him for his wicket-keeping skills.

Considering the opposition is India, Pakistan could opt for Imad Wasim. Some of the Indian batters have problems against left-arm off-spin. Imad is good at it. He can also offer value with the bat. It would be a tactical change for Pakistan. Therefore, Imad Wasim could come into the XI. Pakistan could also risk sending him up the batting order to take on the Indian spinners.
