Likely Gujarat Titans playing 11 for IPL 2024 if Mohammed Shami is ruled out

As per reports, Mohammed Shami will not play IPL 2024. It will be due to a heel injury, which will require surgery for the player. This will severely disturb the balance of the side. On that note, here, we take a look at the likely Gujarat Titans playing 11 for IPL 2024 if Mohammed Shami is ruled out.

Openers: Shubman Gill (C) and Wriddhiman Saha (WK)

At least for the first few games, Gill and Saha will open the batting for the side. It will all depend on the batting form of Saha. If not, Gujarat could introduce someone like Robin Minz.

Middle-Order: B Sai Sudharsan, Kane Williamson and David Miller

B Sai Sudharsan is certain to play at No.3, especially after the success of the last season. Kane Williamson could play at No.4. He is a class player and is also in form. Hence, GT would not like to miss out on his presence. David Miller will continue to be the finisher for the side.

All-Rounders: Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia

There would be no genuine all-rounder in the likely Gujarat Titans playing 11 for IPL 2024 if Mohammed Shami is ruled out. Now that Shahrukh Khan is there, Vijay Shankar may not get a game. Both Shahrukh and Rahul Tewatia might also have to provide some overs with the ball.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohit Sharma and Spencer Johnson

There could be two foreigners in the bowling attack of the likely Gujarat Titans playing 11 for IPL 2024 if Mohammed Shami is ruled out. With Shami not there, GT will have to include a bowler with raw pace. Spencer Johnson has to be that option. In that case, Noor Ahmed misses out. Rashid Khan and Mohit Sharma will form the core of the attack.

Impact Player: Umesh Yadav, Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar or Kartik Tyagi

Umesh Yadav and Abhinav Manohar will be used as the Impact Players, based on the situation of the game. Kartik Tyagi and Jayant Yadav are the other options for the team.
