Jasprit Bumrah has become one of the leading fast bowlers of the country with his phenomenal bowling skills. The right-arm pacer from Gujarat made his debut in 2016, and Bumrah has been unstoppable ever since. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were arguably the best opening bowling option for India.
Virat Kohli prefers to rely on Bumrah in the death overs. Besides, Bumrah also opens the bowling for India regularly. Unfortunately, the fast bowler has one bad habit, and that is to overstep at a crucial moment. Bumrah had almost sealed the deal for India in the 2016 T20 World Cup semifinal against West Indies and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final against Pakistan.
He took the wickets of the most dangerous batsmen from the opposition team, but unfortunately, the umpires said that Bumrah had overstepped.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar feels the no ball from Bumrah was the turning point
In the 2017 Champions Trophy final, Jasprit Bumrah had got the prized wicket of Fakhar Zaman in the third over itself. However, later it was discovered that Bumrah had stepped over the line. Zaman got another life and he made India pay by scoring a ton.
In a recent interview with ESPNCricinfo, Bhuvneshwar Kumar opined that Bumrah’s no ball changed the momentum of the game. He said:
“India lost 3-4 wickets in 15 minutes, that made the game (semifinal vs New Zealand) one-sided. That was an unfortunate event. And if you look at the Champions Trophy final against Pakistan, the match changed after the Jasprit Bumrah no ball.”

“It’s not like we’ve had a one-sided loss or we went down without a fight. We’ve always lost due to an unfortunate event or incident,” the Sunrisers Hyderabad player continued.
Bhuvneshwar also reflected on the recent defeats that India has suffered in the ICC events. However, with two of the next three big ICC events scheduled to happen in India, the Men in Blue would look to break their knockout jinx.
