Future of Drew McIntyre in WWE is uncertain after some recent developments. He may depart from the company soon.
There were rumors of McIntyre being unhappy with his WWE role and the creative direction of his character. Now we have even more proof which indicate towards Drew’s impending exit. He has recently blacked-out his display picture and background of his twitter. This has led to fans wondering if he is finally done with WWE. Reportedly, he is also yet to sign an extension of his contract.
The Scottish Warrior was in a triple-threat match for the Intercontinental Championship with the champion Gunther and Sheamus. He did not win the match but they stole the show at WrestleMania 39. WWE hasn’t had anything much for him since and he was relegated to being a part of The Brawling Brutes.
He went missing from WWE programming a couple of weeks back sparking the exit rumors. His last tweet was on April 3rd, where he posted three waving hands emojis, indicating a goodbye.
Drew McIntyre can sign with AEW if he leaves WWE
If McIntyre leaves the company, he can show up at AEW, WWE’s main rival promotion. But it’s unlikely that WWE will let one of their top stars leave this easily. It could be possible that Drew is just playing the audience until he returns in some solid new storyline. As is the trend, wrestlers remove all WWE mentions from their social media bios and go back to their real names, when they leave.
Like Sasha Banks, Bella twins, Rusev and many others have done in the past. McIntyre has done none of these things yet. Also he is promoting WWE’s channel partners on his Instagram, which remains the same as earlier.
There is also a rumor that McIntyre is dealing with an undisclosed health issue. He has missed dates in the past because of this as well.
