Jason Roy is not part of the English national contract. He only plays ODIs for England and gets paid for that format only. He mentioned that the schedule of the Major League Cricket is not clashing with England’s schedule and will play in that league.
The Major League Cricket MLC will start on July 13 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. This tournament includes franchises from Indian Premier League and Australia.

If this is true, what franchise cricket is about to do is nothing short of what the #SuperLeague would’ve done for football. There’s a fundamental shift in how the game is played, owned, marketed & sold. It could be very bad news for the sport https://t.co/Pf4fMJn2UR

I'm imagining IPL franchises organising a 50 over event in few years & a 4-day championship a decade later.
That's when ICC becomes as irrelevant as IPL Fairplay Award! https://t.co/mGYisoeog7— Dr Sagar Garg (@DrGumsNProbes) May 25, 2023
