India’s Bowling Coach Expresses Anguish As England Pile Misery On India

Team India is staring at a big defeat in the ongoing third Test against England. Happening at Leeds, India was expected to dominate this game after winning the Lord’s Test a few days ago. However, the batsmen could make just 78 runs in the first innings. This is despite Team India winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The bowlers, too, have failed in their task so far. Amidst this, cameras caught Bharat Arun in the dressing room as India’s bowling coach expresses anguish at the bowling display.

It will be hard for India to escape from a defeat

Especially after the Lord’s Test, where India overcame the odds to put up a stunning performance, the display at Leeds has been from the other end of the spectrum. The English bowlers were disciplined with their lines, and most of the Indian batsmen lost their wickets for not controlling their instincts.

While the batting was disappointing, the bowlers, too, have not done well so far. Prior to this game, the English openers were struggling for form. However, in this encounter, Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed put up a 135-run partnership.

The No.3 position was another slot in the batting order that has not come well for England in recent months. However, Dawid Malan scored a 70 and embarrassed the Indian bowlers further. Ravindra Jadeja got his first wicket of the series but the pacers looked demotivated. The accuracy was missing and most of the deliveries were straying in lines and lengths. Despite the experience of the bowlers, Team India has struggled to pick the wicket of Joe Root.

The English captain is nearing 500 runs in the series and is also on the verge of scoring 1000 runs against India in a calendar year. His strike rate too is on the higher side. Seeing this and the performance of the bowlers in general, Bharat Arun looked displeased in the dressing room. The cameras also caught a few visuals of the same.
