Indian team for the first time in history will be participating in the Asian Games, which are all to take place in Hangzhou in September and October. The men’s competition will begin from 28th September to 8th October in a T20 format whereas the women’s tournament will be played from 19th-28th September.
India Playing 11 for the Asian Games 2023 Prediction
India has named a second-string squad for the Asian Games. The young players have been given the opportunity with Ruturaj Gaikwad being named as the skipper of the team. Senior players didn’t make it into the team because the schedule of the tournament clashed with the ICC World Cup 2023 and hence second-string Indian team will be travelling to China.
Coming to the playing 11, Yashasvi Jaiswal along with Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to open the innings for the team. The duo has been exceptional in the IPL and in the domestic circuit. Therefore they are expected to open the innings for the team in Asian games.
Rahul Tripathi, who has been batting at No.3 for India in T20Is, is likely to keep the same position. He was dropped from the team after the poor campaign in IPL but has been recalled into the team for the Asian games.
Tilak Varma, who has been the mainstay of the Mumbai Indians’ batting line for the last two years is expected to bat at No.4 for the team whereas man of 5 sixes Rinku Singh is also likely to make the cut into the team and play a crucial role for the team at No.5.
Jitesh Sharma will be the wicketkeeper in the team as since the last two IPL seasons he has set the stage on fire. It is expected that Shivam Dube will make the cut into the team as a floater and will also play a role with the ball. Washington Sundar is likely to other all-rounders in the team along with Ravi Bishnoi who will serve as a second spinner.
Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Mavi are likely to be pacers in the team. The trio has been doing well in the domestic circuit and would be crucial for the team
