Former India’s head coach Ravi Shastri gave a bold message to the Australian cricket team in the wake of the terrible defeat at the hands of the Indian cricket team in the first Test match at VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
Ravi Shastri was not too pleased with the way Australian players performed in the first Test. In his statement, he suggested the Australian players to leave their IPL buddies behind.
As things stand, India have taken the first lead in the series by beating Australia by an innings and 132 runs. It was a mere cakewalk for the hosts who kept the visitors in check across all aspects of the game.
Ravi Shastri gives a bold message to Australia ahead of the second Test
Writing in his column in the Sydney Morning Herald, Ravi Shastri advised Australian players to bring the gold old Australian manners here in India in order to bounce back from the horrible defeat in Nagpur.
Ravi Shastri further added that he wants to see the Aussies playing an aggressive brand of cricket in the second Test in Delhi. The upcoming Test will kick off at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
For sure, it will be quite a tough challenge for Australia as they are well aware of India’s tremendous record in Delhi. It has been a fortress for India since 1987 as they haven’t lost a Test in 36 years.
Ravi Shastri said he was literally surprised when Australia were bowled out for just 91 runs in the second innings of the Nagpur Test. Shastri felt that Australia didn’t produce a fighting display and he expects them to do well in the second Test, which will be good for the sport.
Shastri further added that India will be relentless in their approach once again since they have a blend of pacers and spinners in their all-round bowling attack.
