WWE legend, Booker T has mentioned that he was not really keen on braving the challenge of the Animal or whom you popularly call Batista after a major bust-up in the backstage. But then like all other rivalries, like all other feuds that took flight after backstage altercations, the understanding between Batista and Booker-T improved and things started taking shape.
The WWE Hall of Famer also deliberated Bryan Danielson a.k.a Daniel Bryan’s recent comments about the Miz. Apparently the current AEW star was never really a fan of the Miz and didn’t want to work with him either. Likening the similarities, Booker T said that he was exactly in the same juncture like Bryan but then as fate would have it, the two had to work together in a storyline.
Here is what Booker T had to say about Batista
Booker T said on his podcast, “I never talk about the incident between Dave [Batista] and I or anything like that. We were not friends or anything like that, and him and I, we had to work together. He wasn’t a person that I particularly wanted to work with, but I’m a professional, just like [Bryan] Danielson, I’m a professional, I’m going to get the work done and hopefully, that makes some really good TV. I do know after the incident [with Batista], I think we were able to work in the ring a whole lot better, actually. I think things got a lot smoother. Maybe before there wasn’t a respect deal going into our matches, but after I’m sure there was a lot of respect going into that ring.”
Booker T was very clear about the fact that when wrestlers step inside the ring, one needs to keep their personal differences aside. The reason being if the outside feuds start to show, it would feel like a chink in the immaculate armour of the grapplers and it can all go wrong. It can all go downhill and the fans would not just be bored but there will be years of embarrassment to follow.
Also another important part of pro-wrestling is that the moves that are executed by the pro-wrestlers are feeding off each other. So better the chemistry, better the moves are being executed. Also a botched up move can end a wrestler’s career. Hence, Booker T just wanted to made sure that no matter the feelings outside the ring, once they have taken the ring, it is a story like never before.
