Hardik Pandya to play in the WTC final ? The all-rounder gives update about his Test return

Team India recently locked horns with the Australian cricket team in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series. Rohit Sharma and Co won the first two games of the series and retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy for a record fourth-straight time.

India were tasked to win the series by an optimal margin of 3-1 to qualify for the final. Australia went on to win the third Test and remained alive in the series. The fourth and final Test between India and Australia ended in a draw in Ahmedabad.

Fortunately, the New Zealand cricket team have done India a great favour by inflicting a defeat on Sri Lanka in the first Test at Hagley Oval. Team India qualified for the WTC Final after Sri Lanka’s defeat to New Zealand.

Team India will lock horns with the Australian cricket team in the ICC WTC Final on June 7, with June 12 set as the reserve day. The all-important ICC WTC Final will kick off at The Kennington Oval.

Hardik Pandya drops a big hint about his return to Test cricket

Meanwhile, India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya chipped in with the latest update about his return to Test cricket. The all-rounder’s last Test appearance came against England back in 2018.

Since then, he fell out of the selectors’ radar. Hardik Pandya has been actively playing T20Is and ODIs. Talking about his return to the Test team, he said he hasn’t even done 1% justice to earn his spot in the Indian Test team.

He further added that taking someone’s spot is morally not right. Hardik Pandya also added that he will not be available for the WTC Final or future Test series until he feels that he has earned his spot.

Hardik Pandya has played eleven Tests for India wherein he scored 532 runs including 1 century and 4 fifties. On the other hand, he took 17 wickets to his name including a fifer.
