Shelton Benjamin is a professional wrestler known for his athleticism, agility, and technical prowess inside the squared circle. Born on July 9, 1975, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Benjamin began his wrestling career in college, where he competed in amateur wrestling at the University of Minnesota. He achieved considerable success as an amateur wrestler, winning numerous accolades and championships.
In 2000, Benjamin transitioned to professional wrestling, signing with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He made his debut on the main roster in 2002 as a part of the tag team known as The World’s Greatest Tag Team alongside Charlie Haas, managed by Kurt Angle. Maven recalled a humorous exchange with Shelton Benjamin where he and Randy Orton were jokingly admiring Benjamin’s physical attributes. Maven asked Benjamin if there had ever been a girl who refused to hook up with him because of his physique, thinking it was a joke.
To Maven’s surprise, Benjamin responded affirmatively, saying there were three instances. Despite the unexpected response, Benjamin took it in stride, showing his sense of humour. Maven ended the anecdote by acknowledging Benjamin’s blessings and jokingly telling him, “You’re welcome.”
“I remember me and [Randy] Orton, we were talking to him one night and like after we were getting ready to get in the shower and we were just looking at him we were like, ‘Goodness gracious Shelton!’ Like, ‘Come on!’ And I asked him, I said, as a joke, ‘Shelton, has there ever been a girl that would not hook up with you because of that thing?’ Thinking it was a joke. And he went, ‘Yeah, three.’ I was like, ‘I was kidding!’ Not thinking he was gonna say yes. But yeah, he took it in stride. [Yeah, he’s definitely blessed] He is blessed. And Shelton, you’re welcome,” he said.
