The Indian Premier League has completed as many as fifteen editions since the inaugural edition in 2008. In all these seasons, the fans ran through a roller coaster ride of memories, heartbreaks, hilarious or rib-ticking moments, sledging or even controversial incidents.
Among all these incidents, the shocking episode involving Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth in IPL 2008 still remains one of the most controversial moments in IPL history.
The fans didn’t even expect such sort of thing to happen in the first place. The incident happened when Sreesanth played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and when Harbhajan Singh played for Mumbai Indians.
After the game, Sreesanth was upset and was spotted shedding tears on the field. The Punjab players were there to console him. Later on, it was alleged that Harbhajan Singh crossed his limits and slapped the paceman.

However, as time progressed, both of them rekindled their friendship. In fact, the duo shared the dressing room in the Legends League Cricket Masters tournament, where they represented India Maharajas.
Meanwhile, the duo were seen sharing the same portal to remember the 12th anniversary of India’s historic triumph in the ICC ODI World Cup 2011.
For the record, the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Sreesanth, Yusuf Pathan and Virender Sehwag were all part of a special episode produced by Star Sports.
During the episode, former Indian paceman Sreesanth opens up about his friendship with Harbhajan Singh. He also disclosed that he always hugged him before playing the game. He further stated that the hugs he got from Harbhajan Singh helped him enhance his overall performance.
The former Indian opener, Sehwag went on to interrupt Sreesanth and asked if those hugs were after the ‘Slapgate’ row.
Here’s how the conversation unfolded:
Sreesanth: “I want to share that before playing a Test or any other match, I always hugged Bhajji pa (Harbhajan Singh). My performance always used to be better.”
Sehwag: “When did this hug trend start? Probably after the incident in Mohali.”
Harbhajan: “Bhul jao yaar” (Forget it man).
Sreesanth also: “Kuch toh log kahenge” (People always say something).
