Liverpool Premier League fixtures: Ever since the arrival of Juergen Klopp as the preceptor at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool has had an array of fine starts to their campaigns. However, the latest edition of the tournament has left a sour taste in Klopp and his wards’ mouth after two pedestrian displays that helped them secure a draw while losing out to Manchester United that has left Liverpool reeling at the bottom half of the points table.
After an abysmal preseason where they sank to Strasbourg, Liverpool started their campaign with a contest against a technically undercooked Fulham. Much to Klopp’s surprise, Liverpool found themselves trailing in the 32nd minute as seasoned Fulham marksman, Aleksandar Mitrovic found the back of the net.

An incoming Darwin Nunez restored parity for the Reds but Mitrovic’s spot-kick restored the lead for the Fulham. It needed a special display from the Egyptian king, Mohammed Salah to help Liverpool walk away with prestige from Craven Cottage.
They faced another stiff challenge in Crystal Palace where Darwin Nunez was left frustrated and shown the card for a headbutt in the 57th minute with Palace leading through Wilfried Zaha. An extraordinary effort from another newcomer, Luis Diaz helped Liverpool walk away with the spoils shared.
However, unlike last time, where the Reds tore the Devils apart, riding high on a superior brand of display twice, witnessed Manchester United running absolute riot as the latter handed Liverpool their maiden defeat of the season. Mohammed Salah’s late strike did very little to dissuade Manchester United of their incessant infringements.

Klopp will have to rally his forces before further damage befalls the club with Bournemouth on the horizon. They have stiffer challenges coming up in September where they will be battling the Wolves in a long and cold winter while Chelsea will come knocking for them.
