El Salvador last played against Qatar in an international friendly on Sunday. The first half began slow but competitive as both teams kept the ball moving. However, at the end of the first half, the score was 0-0. With the match progressing towards an ultimate stalemate, Almoez Ali happened to score the only and winning goal for Qatar in the 69th minute.
On the other hand, Guatemala played Guadeloupe in the CFU-UNCAF play-off. Both teams looked in great touch right from the get-go. Their aggressive instincts were shown pretty early after Matthias Phaeton scored in the 6th minute of the game and handed a 1-0 lead to Guadeloupe.
However, following that came an equaliser by Luis Martínez for Guatemala which forced the game into extra time and penalties. After a long-awaited day, Guadeloupe held onto their nerves and won by 10-9.
