After the disappointment against India, West Indies will now look forward to the assignment against New Zealand. The three-match T20I series will take place entirely at the Sabina Park in Jamaica, with the first one scheduled on August 11th. Here, we take a look at the pitch report of Sabina Park and the weather conditions in Jamaica for the WI vs NZ T20I series.
New Zealand has just finished a good tour of Europe without most of the seniors. Now, a few of them, including Kane Williamson will return to play against the West Indies. Hence, in the context of the 2022 T20 World Cup, it will be an important series for them.
On the other hand, West Indies needs serious work ahead of the mega-event later this year. While their batting looks almost settled with the likes of Kyle Mayers and Nicholas Pooran, the bowling might need some focus. They would look to improve their performance against the Kiwis.

The Sabina Park has seen only 3 T20Is played so far. Hence, the sample size is too low to derive a pattern on how the game could progress.
Nevertheless, batting second could help the teams as two of the three games won so far have been by the chasing side. Evin Lewis’ 125 against India in 2017 is the highest individual score on this track while Alex Cusack’s 4/11 against West Indies in 2014 is the best bowling performance. The average score batting first is around 134 and this number needs to improve if the team batting first has to win the game.

Temperatures will be around 32 degrees Celsius for the entire duration of the game. The visitors might take some time in getting used to the heat.
There is a possibility of scattered thunderstorms and therefore, batting second will be the wise option for the captain winning the toss.
