In the last series against South Africa, Sanju batted staggeringly well as he scored 146 runs in three games and won games for his side. Many have lauded him for his performances and highlighted the responsible innings he has played of late.

In the most recent first ODI against New Zealand, Samson played another handy knock as he scored 36 runs and helped his side post a decent total on the board. In 10 matches that he has played this year, the right-hander has scored 284 runs at an average of 71.00.

Also, he has recorded the most sixes in ODIs this year for India. Samson has hit 14 maximums and the number is only expected to rise since he is likely to play the next two games against New Zealand as well.
